Yes — the web-based roster tools and the app are free. No credit card is required to get started.
How do household access codes work?
Create a household in the Family Rota app and you'll get a unique 6-character code. Share it with family members — when they enter it, they join your household and can see and complete the shared task rota.
Can young children use the family rota?
Absolutely! The family rota is designed to be fun and clear for all ages. Children pick an emoji avatar, see big colourful task cards, and earn stars for each completed chore. The badge system and leaderboard make it genuinely motivating for kids.
Can I use it for multiple households?
Yes — you can belong to multiple households (for example, managing a rota for both your own home and a shared house). Each household has its own separate code, tasks, and leaderboard.
How does the task rotation work?
Each task is assigned to a family member. When you hit "Auto-Rotate", all tasks shift one person along the list — so Jake who hoovered last week gets the sweeping this week. You can also manually drag and reassign, or use Swap Tokens to trade tasks.
Can I use Roster Champion for a shared house or flat share?
Absolutely! The Household & Cleaning Rota works perfectly for shared houses, flat shares, and student homes. Add all housemates as members, assign cleaning zones for common areas like the kitchen, bathroom, and living room, and track contributions fairly. The access code feature lets anyone in the home share the rota with their housemates — no account needed.
